People have lived on the banks of the Anglin since prehistoric times. The Magdalenian sculptures of Roc-aux-Sorciers prove it. They are the largest in Europe dated – 14,000 years.
To visit: the impressive ruins of the castle (XI-XVth century), which overhang 50 meters the valley of Anglin and the lower town. (Visit the castle in July and August). You can see the Chapel of St. Croix which remains of the monastery built in the eleventh century and the cemetery of the lower town with its cross hosannière of the fourteenth century.

The Roc des Sorciers site, discovered in 1950 at the foot of a cliff on the banks of the Anglin, is an inhabited and carved rock shelter dating back to 15,000 years ago.
The discovery of prehistoric works carved on 20 meters long in this shelter makes the Roc -aux-Sorciers a major prehistoric site.
This fabulous unique frieze reveals the world of men Cro-Magnon, populated by ibex, bison, horses, felines, reindeer and human figures, including the exceptional set of three women sculpted.
The Roc-aux-Sorciers Interpretation Center invites you to discover this heritage, through innovative scenography and real size renditions, one of which is fully tactile.
